Family Matters
As your children are reaching the junior high and high school age, they start to discover who they are and what they want to do in their lives. They come to an age when communication with parents becomes more difficult, expectations become high, and their Taiwanese culture becomes a major factor in many of their decisions. What are the family values that are governing their decisions and what are some of the unspoken difficulties that may be affecting the relationships between each family member?
In July, your children will have an opportunity to share their lives with other Taiwanese Americans. Family Matters isn't meant to be a "therapy" session or a way to "fix" family problems. It is a time to help prepare junior high students on what to expect in the future and a time for the high school students to work together and gain perspective and advice from their peers. TANG supports and cares for its young Taiwanese Americans and we want to provide a place your children can go to and depend on for years to come. |
